Aim
The journal exists to advance scholarly research in traditional Chinese medicine, so that this work can better serve clinical practice.

The editorial board will be announced when the list is complete. The editorial office decides technical checks, Release (preprint), the organisation of review, certification (Approved), and withdrawal. Write to office@jah.digital to ask whether a manuscript fits the scope.
Continuous open publishing
After a technical check, a paper is Released as a preprint and undergoes pseudonymous peer review with publicly available reports. After at least three accepted formal reviews, public author replies to each, and editorial certification, it may become Approved (the Version of Record). Authors may also remain Released. Differing review opinions do not automatically exclude certification; the editorial office makes a combined assessment. Released looks like a preprint; after Approved the English text is frozen and the review area stays open.
Print era and the year-volume
The print era ends at Volume 6, Issue 3 (Special Issue). After that, volume equals the calendar year. One Approved paper is enough to enter that year’s volume. Cite as 2026;e001, not year-volume-pages (which would look like 2026;2026:1-8).
Review and licence
Formal reviews are public, signed with a verified pseudonym. The office holds the real name. This is not double-blind review. Paths are editor-invited, author-invited, or volunteer (accepted by the office). Approved articles use CC BY-NC 4.0. Copyright stays with the authors. Released papers are not under CC, so exclusive submission is not hollowed out.
Issue-bound archives and conference pages are not the main path. Print-era issues remain in the print archive.
