The JAH approach

Share the work.
Open the discussion.

Our publishing model brings the manuscript, formal reviews, and author responses together on one article page.

01

Make research available earlier

After technical checks and preparation of the English version, your article can appear as a citable Released preprint, with revisions possible during this stage.

02

See the reasoning behind the reviews

Formal reports are publicly available under verified pseudonyms. Reviewers’ real identities are known to the editorial office; readers can follow the reports and author replies.

03

Develop the work, then choose certification

With at least three accepted formal reviews and public responses to each, authors may request editorial certification. Approved articles receive a DOI; authors retain copyright.

From manuscript to version of record

A clear path through publication.

Released and Approved describe different stages. A preprint has not yet received the journal’s final certification.

01 / SUBMIT

Prepare & submit

Submit in Chinese or English. The office conducts a private technical check; an English version is needed before release.

02 / RELEASE

Publish a preprint

After the checks and technical processing fee, the article becomes publicly readable and citable as a preprint.

Released
03 / REVIEW

Review & respond

Formal reviews appear under verified pseudonyms. Respond publicly to each review and revise your work as needed.

04 / CERTIFY · OPTIONAL

Request certification

After the required reviews and replies, request editorial certification. The APC is due after certification, before DOI registration.

Approved · DOI · CC BY-NC 4.0
You may choose to remain Released. Three reviews do not automatically confer Approved status; editorial certification is required. After Approved, the English text is fixed and the review area remains open.

Before you submit

Clear terms.
Informed decisions.

Language, fees, and submission commitments should be clear from the start.

What does publication cost?

Standard technical processing is USD 50 before Release. An additional USD 800 APC is payable after editorial certification and before DOI registration. Optional translation is charged separately. An invitation to submit does not automatically include a waiver.

Can I submit in Chinese?

Yes. No English abstract is required at upload. An English version is required before Release and is the version of record if Approved. You may supply your own English version or use the optional paid translation service. Chinese may accompany the same article record.

Is submission exclusive to JAH?

Yes, including throughout the Released stage. If fewer than three formal reviews are available 60 days after Released v1, you may withdraw and submit elsewhere, or remain Released. A withdrawn public version retains a Withdrawn record.

Who can take part in formal review?

Reviewers may be invited by editors or authors, or volunteer for consideration. The office verifies identity and determines whether a report counts as formal review. Conflicts must be disclosed; public comments do not substitute for formal reviews.
