JAH publishes work on acupuncture, herbal medicine, and their meeting with contemporary science, including mechanisms, clinical research, integrative practice, education, and cultural or philosophical study.

Article types on the new series start with Review, Theoretical Exploration, Digital Medicine, Clinical Research, Experimental Study, and Experience Transmission. The office may extend the list by rule.
